Krunchy Kale recipe

If you like crunch then you are going to love my crunchy Kale-Weed recipe.  Yes, I know the name sounds odd but maybe it got your attention?  This recipe is a great way to get your seaweed veggies into your diet.  I like to use dulse and kelp.  Believe it or not, because of the crunch my kids absolutely love eating the dulse and they prefer it over the kale.  Seaweeds like Dulse are popular in places like Japan and China and they have high amounts of nutrition and therapeutic properties.  In addition, dulse can help to heal poor digestive systems and can help cleanse the body of heavy metals by healing and enhancing the liver.  Another bonus is that it also increases metabolism and aids in weight loss.

Ingredients:

1 bunch of fresh kale

1 Pkg  of Kelp or Dulse at your local health food store

1 tbsp Lemon Juice

1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

1 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350.  Wash and dry the Kale making sure to remove the large center stem.  I like to use my salad spinner to dry off the Kale thoroughly.  Place the Kale and Seaweeds into a large mixing bowl.  Add the olive oil, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar and toss to coat all the pieces.  Place the kale on a baking sheet – I like to use my silpat baking mat so that the pieces don’t stick.  Place in the oven for 15 minutes or until crunchy.  Remove from oven and top just the kale with a little bit of sea salt if needed (the seaweeds will not need any salt flavor as they are already very salty).  Enjoy this crunchy and healthy snack!
