I love cookies


My weakness is a good old chocolate chip cookie – or most any cookie in general and that’s why I don’t keep them in the house.  So when my husband came up with this healthy cookie treat I was shocked that I actually liked it.  He is an excellent cook, but I am the better baker.  Goes to show you, one can be proven wrong at any time.  I loved his Banana Oat Cookie Concoction and was sold!


This healthy cookie treat has only 4 ingredients. The best part about it was that it satisfied my cookie craving without all the horrible ingredients that cookies so often contain – like sugar and flour.  The dark chocolate chips (used sparingly) made it feel like a decadent treat and insured that my young children would give it a chance.


They store well in the fridge and also taste great out of the oven.  Give it a try and you just may find it’s a great cookie substitute when you have a hankering for a cookie but don’t want to load your body with low energy ingredients and high calories.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1 Cup Steel cut oats

2 Ripe Bananas

1 TBSP Chia seeds

1/4 cup Dark chocolate chips (65% or greater)

* Try using pecans, vanilla or cinnamon to add some flavor of your own

Preheat the oven to 350 and mash up the banana until its soft.  Start to fold in the oats and chia seeds.  Add the Chocolate chips last.

Scoop 1 – 1.5 inch round balls onto non stick baking pan pad and then flatten them down.  Cook for 35 minutes.  Remove from oven let cool and enjoy!
