Here's why hiring a health coach is a game changer

What I am about to say may seem crazy, but stick with me…

Food is not the problem. I truly believe most weight issues have little to do with what people eat. Instead, it’s often how much, when, where, and why they are eating that is the issue. Daily behaviors and habits are the problem, not the food. Mindset, thought patterns, lifestyle, and daily habits have the power to support health or sabotage it.

How can I say this which such confidence? Let me ask you. How many diets have you tried and failed? Maybe you found success for a short while, but ended up either where you started from or worse. Or do you know any thin people who seem to eat whatever they want? They eat bread, pasta, desserts, cheese, etc. without gaining weight. How is it that possible? It’s possible because they have established behaviors around food either consciously or subconsciously that allow them to eat what they enjoy without gaining weight.

As an overweight child and teen, I struggled to find the best plan for me. I tried other people’s plans and failed miserably. Through a journey of self-discovery, I have been able to keep the weight off for over 20 years. Even though I was successful, I constantly feared I would gain it back. I thought after I turned 40 that weight gain was inevitable, but as I have continued with healthy habits and behaviors, I have been pleasantly surprised that it has not been the case. I no longer fear food!
